Tell us a little more about yourself:
I was born and raised in San Antonio and have lived in Austin for 15 years. Growing up I played many different types of sports and it taught me a lot about the value of teamwork. I love animals and as a kid I would adopt any mammal, fish, crustacean, or reptile I could find. I’m very close with my family and I’m lucky to have them all here in Texas.

I graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Wellness Promotions. After my internship in college I moved to Austin and started working at Ambion in 2005. Ambion changed my life in so many ways both professionally and personally. While there, I met my best friend and husband Emmanuel, an amazing French scientist who also worked at Asuragen for many years. On weekends we spend a lot of time outdoors biking, hiking, playing tennis, soccer, swimming, and grilling.

Next month will be my 13 year Anniversary at Asuragen (I’ve been here since Day 1)! I’ve grown and learned so much over the years. Asuragen has fantastic customers and I enjoy getting to know them and interacting with them every day. It is inspiring to know that we are all working together to make a positive impact on patients’ lives.

What do you like most about working here?
Working with customers and making a difference in people’s lives.

What are you most proud of? (Career and/or personal)
I’m most proud of having a loving and supportive family. Having a strong family unit has shaped who I am today and has taught me the value of hard work.

What is one thing you can’t live without?
I can’t live without a healthy lifestyle! Exercising and good health go hand and hand. I work out 5-7 days and week and absolutely love taking classes at the gym. Step aerobics and body combat are my most favorite classes. I’ve made a lot of lifetime friends in class and I cherish the time at the gym sweating with my friends.

What do you like most about living in Austin?
My favorite thing about living in Austin is the weather. Having so many sunny days motivates me to spend more time outdoors doing activities that I enjoy.

What is your favorite place you’ve traveled to and why?
My husband and I are both avid snorkelers and we love to travel to the Caribbean. We have snorkeled in many islands and all over the Mesoamerican reef. There is a whole other world under water that is extremely fascinating.
